New Year, New Me, New You
The horrific year of the Rat had finally reached its end. The previous year brought chaos to every nation around the globe. A bucket-full of crisis increased from time to time while the urging call for nation upliftment diminishes every second. A lot of people suffered from hunger and anguish yet, each of us gained unity as everyone gathered around the festive table, in preparation for the year of the “EARTH OX.”
Not everyone hoped to change by the year 2009, but there are quite a number of individuals who’re eagerly preparing for their brand new life where new opportunities are up for grabs. Surely, I’ll be one of those people who will strive hard and work my way in order for me to attain my goals for myself and for others, also. And, this all starts with one’s New Year’s resolution.
Since the day that I entered into the Holy House of Worship and read the Bible at my young age, I’ve never committed myself to God; neither did I join youth fellowships and Bible studies. For the past fifteen years of my stay here on earth, I’ve been blind. That is why, I wanted to grow more spiritually and be engaged in religious activities to bring glory and honor to God. Furthermore, I found out that relationship with fellowmen is an extremely significant matter. I’ve once lost my good bond with my family and a friend, which is one of my reasons, why I am so eager to build that inner connection that guilt once took away from me. Well, we are humans and guilt is a normal phenomenon. And the last but not the least, I wanted to share my blessings to everyone whom God thinks deserves it. Every creature here on this planet receives a million blessings a year, thousands were showered before the end of the twelve merry months and hundreds are sprinkled a day. God bestows gifts through blessings on us, not for us to boast about it but for us to share it to our brothers and sisters.
The triumph of this fresh year lies within our hands. We have paths that we will soon choose, either be it for our own benefit or for the benefit of others. Whatever roads we may take in the future, let us all keep this in mind, God is watching over us and everything that we say and do counts.
